San Marcos offers many different living styles and natural beauty, with a dense suburban vibe. Located 8-12 miles from the beaches, depending on where in the city you reside, San Marcos offers a plethora of hiking trails and lakes. Property types range from condos to single-family homes, as well as multiple 55+ mobile park communities. Neighborhoods range from the well established, to newer construction, private hilltop custom homes, old fashioned town-style master planned living (San Elijo Hills), to university life by CSUSM. Each area is vastly different. San Marcos is home to a plethora of restaurants and the famous Restaurant Row, shopping, and trails, and is conveniently located close to both the 15 and 78 freeways, and not too far from I5. The Sprinter trains also takes riders to Oceanside, where one can hop on the Coaster trains all the way to Downtown San Diego. San Marcos is comparatively more affordable than coastal areas, and your home dollars can stretch further.
